Advice on entry road bike

Hi, I've never bought a road bike before so I'm looking for some advice from people who understand the specs of a road bike and how they would likely reflect value given the price.

I will be cycling from Dublin to Kildare, a 40k cycle exactly. I don't have too much cash now and one of the main reasons for investing in a road bike is to cut out the Bus Eirann extortionate prices. I love cycling too and do It everyday anyway.
So I want a cheap bike for now and later I'll upgrade.

Can you take a look at this below and tell me if It reflects value upon It's 319 Euro price. I saw on a UK webside It's 350 pounds so the sale seems legit.

Also as It's sent by post can you advise me upon frame size. I'm 6ft and the bike I have now is large, but not a road bike. I really don't want It to be too small and uncomfortable. Would you advise a 56cm frame or 59cm?

    Ty in advance

For a little over €300 it'd probably be fine, you won't get much else for that money tbh. IS that the max budget at present? If had few hundred more you could in range for a decent/reliable second hand bike...

It's really hard to know on sizes. I'm 6'4 and I've got a claud butler flat bar road bike 23" which is 58/59cm and it fits well. Chances are 56 would be fine. I was going to tell you to check Mcloughlins garden machinery website in Tipperary as they sell claud butler but on checking I see that justcycles actually is McLoughlins anyway. I'd say if that's your budget you won't do any better than that to be honest.

For that money, I'd tend to go second hand and get something with an aluminium frame and carbon forks. Personally, I wouldn't be buying a new 7 speed road bike with steel forks in a fit of madness. Might be fine, but for me, I really wouldn't.

Size wise, I've a 54cm Ridley which is a bit small for me at 6ft. I'd say a 56cm would be grand but it is very dependant on frame geometry. My Ridely was bought second hand on the adds section here. €300 at the time, and worked out very well, albeit I've put another €500 into it over the last 3-4 years. I've put about 18k KM into the bike, which puts the bike at a bit less than 5c per km travelled which I'm not going to complain about. A 40k commute adds up quick enough, so you maybe want a reasonably decent bike.
