Internships - not considered as work

This has been getting on my nerves a bit. I've been interning in this place for the last few months. My work is considered "help" and will not be referred to what it actually is (work), and am being referred to as more of a personal assistant. As an intern I'm not considered staff or an employee.

Just annoys me how interns are seen as other when they contribute just as much.

Could rant for over on this.

I've had mixed experiences with interns. Most just surfed the web all day even though we gave them work to do. Only a few were actually useful.

I would never call them "help" though. They are what they are - an intern. I would not consider them equal or equivalent to a normal employee.
