Hi all just wondering if its possible to claim back USC if im being wrongfully charged.

Currently working in a shop in the city centre part time as im studying for my leaving cert. Going by my payslip im paying USC on all wages ( hasnt added up to much). I was told if i am earning less then 10k a year i should not be paying USC? Is this true?

If so can someone please advise me on what i should be doing to correct this? Would it be through my employer or the tax office?

    thanks

At the end of the year request a p21 balancing statement from revenue.

If you are not going to work any more in the tax year you can claim it back immediately.
