The problem with working out in such a short space of time is the lack of time to warm up which wouldn't be advisable.

You could FoamRoller/Sliotar yourself for the 15-20mins. Or do topless air squats.

If you only have such a short time - then definitely try to do compound lifts in this time for the maximum benefit in such a short space of time.

As Craig06 said though, will you have time for a proper warmup?

Yes, best to use it for the other stuff - stretching, strength, any specific issues u need to sort.

Tabatha Sessions ? Not every day though!!

    8 mins warm up
    20 secs full gas / 10 secs easy(recovery) x 8 reps (4mins total)
    8 mins warm down

    20 mins done & dusted

Surely 'topless air-squats' are the only game in town for lunchtime workouts!

Would it not be easier to extend your commute on the way in/home?

I hear that doing air squats with your top on greatly increases your chance of injury.

thanks for all the answers, i will definitely go for the topless air squats :-)
i might got my question a bit wrong (English is not my first language). i have a one hour lunch break and want to get a bit more active instead of eating and just killing time in front of the computer. For the time i am doing short walks around the hospital compound i am working, but i hope to do some additional exercises during my break. I am mid 44 years old, do the commute on a mountain bike, and have sometimes back pain.

    thank you!

    Light stretching maybe.
Or build up you core with some push ups, planks and supermans.
10 push ups - Plank for 30 seconds - Superman each side for 15 seconds.
    3 reps of this cycle.

Easy peasy for a stronger core.
