Aerlingus turnaround inquiry

When i worked at the aiport for the summer, i seen many aerlingus turnarounds on the ramp, there was this one guy i was always curious about, im nearly positive he wasn't a baggage handler, or a fueler, and defiantly not a pilot. I really should of asked one of the guys on the ramp at the time, buy anyways! He wore a red and yellow high vise he would stand out from all the rest of the ground crew, when the aircraft came to stand he would visually inspect the aircraft, the tires wings, flaps, just do an overall walk around of the aircraft, i was curious because it seemed like quite an interesting job! I said i would ask ye guys if ye have any clue what his job was? maybe an engineer ive no idea!

    Thanks

To apply for a job like that would you need some sort of an engineering qualification or?

For a maintenance engineer OP? Not at all, medicine is, of course, the course of choice.
