hi, had an nct test recently which I failed due to severe corrosion and a leaking suspension. This have been fixed but now a "door open" warning light has come on - all does are closed.
question is will the retest only check the failed items, and ignore the warning light, or can I potentially fail for the warning light?

    Thanks in advance.

    SH

Retest is usually only the failed item but NCT might just have an issue with that light. Then again if they can see doors work they might let you go.

Check the door sensors one by one and see if you can figure out which one it is. It could be a quick and easy fix.

Thanks biko, had it in to a couple of mechanics for a quick look. no sensors that are visible and both said they'd need to take door panels off. .... and charge for it. It's a 03 Punt and have already spent enough money on it. Would rather not spend more of I can avoid it. ...

The door/tailgate open warning lamp is not part of the test however I'd expect them to verify the doors are securely closed.

The 'door open' switch is probably built into the door locks.
Unfortunately that makes it hard to check which one is faulty.

The door open warning light is not listed as a fail in the NCT Manual (Item 60; 'Malfunction Indicators' lists the particular lights that are a fail), so although they can ask you about it they cannot fail you for it

fair play for posting again. a lot of threads are left without reply and no one knows if the nct is got or not.
