    Hello,
I am currently working on a proposal for a television program based around the history and impact of Tuberculosis in Ireland. I was hoping to get in contact with anyone who has been subject to the disease, or has had family or relatives who have contracted it. Any ideas?

Anonymity and respect for privacy are standards of boards.ie, consequently we are reluctant to help you identify persons with TB through the use of this forum or site. Then again, you may want consider the following:

New diagnostic DNA test to help control TB was developed at National University of Ireland Galway, Irish Medical Times (July 2012). You may want to contact Pat Kelly article author for NUIG faculty contacts, who in turn may have patient case studies or patients that may be interested in your programme.

You may wish to contact Angela Long, Professor Luke Clancy, or Dr Charles Bredin, all of whom are identified in "Ireland could lose its edge on TB," Irish Health (2014), to see how they may find subjects for your study.

The Health Safety Authority evaluates "Tuberculosis (TB) in the Workplace" (2014), and may have some contacts or ideas to further your research.
