my iPhone 4s never ever left me down with an alarm, first morning using the 6 and all 3 of my set alarms fail to go off.

    Anyone come across this?

The only thing I can think of is the the phone was turned off maybe that caused it?

Does the alarm work when a 4s is turned off? What about a 5 or a 5s

Could be a number of things but do check if your phone is set to 12hr mode it can be easy to set it to pm by accident (silly but it caught me out before)

In general I wouldnt rely on just my phone alarm get myself up. Get a bell alarm clock too keep it set at a late time after all your digital alarms are due to wake you just in case. :-)

Set the alarms in 5 mins from now and see what happens.
    Was it on silent?

And no, the phone won't start up from off to sound an alarm. My old Nokia would do that, great phone.

That explains it. Maybe one day Apple will allow that to happen, and people will think it's a brilliant brand new feature :D

I think it needs a separate battery to do that. I don't think any smartphone can do it, but I could be wrong.

Something simple like on the Blackberry would suffice. There you can set phone to turn off and on automatically.
I think both for the BB and the Nokia it's because there is a realtime clock that never ever switches off.

Why would anyone turn their phone off?

Put it on airplane mode overnight. Good as off so little to no battery use. Alarm works as normal then too!
