Hi ... anybody recommend a good replacement for a Bristan Thermostat 2000 Pumped Electric shower ? It's hot water is fed of the immersion.

I had a replacement "supply and fit" booked for a Triton T90Z (I had explained the shower type I needed replacing as above) and was quoted €329 ... however when they guys got here they said it was a completely different type and I would need a full reinstallation @ €629.

I'm totally confused and need a replacement shower quick. Budget to get the job done is €350 max - supply and fit ?

    Anybody have similar experiences ?

I can not find a listing for a Bristan Thermostat 2000 anywhere.

Your main problem is calling it a pumped electric shower. An electric shower (T90Z) heats the water. My guess is your shower pumps already heated water from your hot press cylinder. This is called a Power shower (not electric). If this is the case & you still want the Triton T90Z then it is a complete new installation you need. This costs €580 to €700. Plenty online if you google them.
If you want to stick with a power shower you'll get one supplied & fitted for €350 to €450. You just need to know if you have a power shower or an electric shower. these guys should have asked you over the phone first.

Thanks for the reply - you've explained it perfectly - mine is a Power Shower.

The Bristan shower also goes by the name New Team - I got it in B&Q about 7yrs ago .. I think they're more popular in the UK.

They're not that popular even over there. If you have to replace it after only 7 years then you know why.:)

If I were you I'd be getting a Triton AS2000xt or a Mira Vigour. The Triton is the better of the 2 but your pipe layout will dictate the one you need. They give a 2 years warranty Mira only a 1 year with their power showers

Cheers ... I've just been talking to Barretts of Maynooth and explained my situation. They recommended the Triton AS2000xt also. €259 for the unit and I'll need to ring around a few plumbers for an installation price.

You're basically looking for a swap-out. Ballpark €120 i'd say, with you supplying the shower of course.

I agree. It might be cheaper for plumber to supply & fit as he can claim the high vat & charge the lower. Try some of the links below.

Was just about to post Sleepers link but he bet me to it. You were quoted €280 for the triton. These guys will supply and fit it for €350, so basically you're getting it fitted for 80quid and you don't even have to go to the hassle of purchasing it ;)
