    A scales for luggage costs about 6 euro. I got mine in Dunnes

    They were in the travel section with adaptors and luggage tags and stuff. It's a scales that attaches to the strap of your bag, not a regular household scales

    weigh them the way you would weigh a dog.

    I've always used regular scales. Weight oneself, grab the bag, note the new weight. Calculate the difference. Unless you need it down to an accuracy of less than .5kg, that works fine.
