Netflix picture stuttering/stalling

    I have a 13 inch macbook late 2008 just upgraded to OSX Lion 10.7.5.

    I am trying to play netflix on an external display (LG 32 tv) through mini DVI to HDMI cable.

    Pre uppgrade netflix was working fine on the external monitor, now the picture is stalling and slightly out of sync with the sound.

    I have tried playing an .mkv through VLC on the LG and it works fine.

    I have also changed refresh rate to 50 hertz on the LG, but no cigar.

    Im out of ideas on this one, Any suggestions on how to fix this, thanks.
