in the early stages of organising a stag in Cologne in January over 25 lads.

Any suggestions for accommodation close to z Beerhalls. I have searched for an equivalent of Stay City apartments like in the UK and here, but found nothing - something like this would be ideal.

A suggestion on a few activities would be useful too.

    Thanks

Watch the ice hockey - the sharks play there and it's quite a good atmosphere and you can have a beer while watching the game :D

Assume your flying Ryanair? Germanwings also fly and may be better on price.

Get over the "z" business, it's not funny, it's not nice. Why go if you carry this attitude.

Delay it a couple of weeks until Cologne becomes an giant party city from 12th - 17th February for Carneval. I think that would soon do away with any misconceptions about Germanz :) (I think only fans of Faulty Towers would throw a z in to try and make fun of Germany).

    EDIT: and bring costumes

No sense of humour and sensible dull people couldn't be further from the truth. :)

They do like to complain about trains being 4 minutes late though

I was on a stag in Cologne a few years ago and we stayed in the Hotel Ibis on Barbarossa Platz. The tram outside goes directly to the Dom and Barbarossa Platz is a two minute walk from Zulpicher Strabe (area with some good bars).

I actually spent a summer in Cologne back in the 90's. Its a class city.

There's a big exhibition centre there, so accommodation goes crazy on the prices when something's on, book outside their dates and you'll get decent prices. Hotel Muller is right near the train station, basic but comfortable and great for a stag I'd imagine, decent breakfast too.

    Hi All,

planning a stag in Cologne this year end of July - start of Aug. Any ideas for 20 lads? are there festivals on at that time of year?

In terms of accommodation we were planning to stay central near the Breslauder Pl.
    Any Ideas are welcomed.
