Are you using the tv remote (or tv on Sky remote) or have you tried pressing the "source" button and select the correct option which would be "antenna"?

What i am doing is taking the aerial out of sky box+taking the rf out of sky box and connecting the 2.Then i lose the saorview channels on second tv.

Your skybox is probably powering a 9v Splitter for use with a magic eye?? When the box is out of the system, it receives no power and your other tv receives no signal.

Yes I went into the attic and there is a splitter with a light on it.
I did away with it to test but I still have the same result??

As a matter of interest, why do you want to take the old skybox out of the system? You do realise that you will have an array of channels for free from the box even though you wont have a sub with sky.

If the "RF in" is connected to the "RF out" at the back of the skybox, and you have isolated the correct input and output to the tv you want the signal at, at the powered splitter and joined them properly, (not by twisting cables together) you should have saorview at the 2nd tv.

However, how are you sending the saorview signal to the tv where the skybox currently is?

How far away from the Sky box is the other TV?
Is it connected directly to the other TV, no splitter, joins etc.?

What type of splitter is it, make/model etc.?

O.k Just to clear things up.
Aerial comes in down to sky box,rf out back up to attic splitter, other tv connected up there.
I am getting rid of sky and using an amiko alien 2.

OK, so have you got a power supply for the splitter (apart from the skybox)? If you do, then power it using that, and join the rf in and out at the back of the skybox and see where you are then.

Is there a place on it to plug in a power supply?

Is the Alien going at the TV where the Sky box is now? Do you intend to distribute the output of the Alien via RF, & change channels with 'magic eye'? You will need to use a separate modulator kit with the Alien, to provide the RF output & power for the 'eyes' & distribution system (the 'splitter' in your attic).

OK, the signal isn't good enough to get to the second TV via the splitter without the Sky box giving it a boost. As it stands you'll require a distribution amp to give the signal a boost up to the attic to feed the second TV via the splitter.

Does the aerial cable pass through the attic before going to the main TV point? If it did you could split the signal there to the various TV points via either a distribution amp or if the signal is good enough the splitter.

Different setup required if you want to distribute the amiko alien channels to the second TV point as Thurston refers to above, modulator etc.

Ya think that is the problem alright with the signal not good enough.
Going to split the aerial in the attic and then distribute it.
    Will keep ye posted.
On the alien front i have a triax trilink coming to sort that out!!!
    Thanks lads!

If you want to distribute the output from the Alien to all other TV points, along with the aerial signal, you will need to leave the setup the way it is, with the aerial now routed via the Tri-Link RF input/output, instead of the Sky box.

The signal from your aerial must be poor to begin with or is suffering too much loss in cables or connections.

The 'splitter' you refer to, is it one of these?
