Hi, I have court in the coming days for driving with no insurance.

I am pleading guilty and have my solicitor turning up for me.

Question is: do I still need to take work off and go to court even though my solicitor will be there?

Driving with no insurance is a serous offence, I'd turn up if I was you. Your solicitor show know the judge's form, what is he or she recommending? And why are you paying a solicitor and then asking a bunch of anonymous people on d'internet for advice?

When I last spoke to my solicitor, we came up with a story and I was pleading not guilty.
Now it seems I can't get off work and I am going to plead guilty.

So you were driveing with no insurance and you and your solicitor was going to come up with a story? I presume one that was not true. The fact is you were driveing with no incurnce and you should go to court to court your self

Yes it wasn't true! I was going to lie! Can you believe that!? Perhaps a spelling lesson is in order.

You either had or insurance or not it's not as simple as inventing a story. First offence is mandatory 2 year ban unless you have a good reason to get less than that. If driving is important to you then turn up if not do what you like.

I'm always amazed at these brain surgeons, consultants, body guards and rocket scientists that work 100 hour weeks in stressful jobs being paid top whack that can't afford to get NCTs/Insurance/Tax etc. It always seems that work is getting in the way of going to court over these serious matters; presumably because the person concerned is completely indispensable.

Surely the butler can go and get the tax/ring up the insurance?

    Ask your solicitor.
