    Hi,

My sister is heading up to Northern Ireland next to look at a 2008 mk5 Golf 2.0 tdi 170 bhp (she is set on buying a golf).

I am sure I have read some where that the 170 bhp engine had problems with injectors and may not be as reliable as the 1.9 tdi/2.0 tdi 140 bhp engine ?

Also is 170 bhp to much power for a front wheel drive golf, I'd imagine it would also not be very fuel efficient?

Any opinions welcome, as I am trying to convince her to buy a 2.0 tdi 140 bhp or the 1.9 tdi golf.

The injectors were recalled and are no longer an issue.

I wouldn't get too hung up on whether a particular car was 140 or 170bhp. A good one of either will be fine. A bad one will break your heart and wallet. So concentrate on finding a good one.
