Hi. I bought the no more tv bills satellite package a little over 2years ago. The box is s SaorTv box.

Up until recently I have had no problems all the stations coming in nice and clear good sound, recording working. But 2-3 weeks ago alk of the Irish tv channels disappeared and when I try to tune them back in they dont come back. I still have ALL of the Irish radio channels but not the tv channels.

    Anyone any idea why?

Is there a radio/TV select button on the r/c? If the radio channels are there so should the TV channels as they're all carried together.

The Irish channels are not (legally) available on satellite without a current subscription. What box do you have?

If it's not a combo box, you should never have been receiving Irish Channels. If it is, then perhaps you have a problem with your aerial or the box itself.

Yes there is a radio/TV button. If I press it once it goes to radio if I press again it goes back to TV. I have all the English channels but none of the Irish one's.

Sorry should have said that it is a Combo box.

What it says on the Box is SaorTV STV-C1

Looks like you have a problem with either the box or the aerial then. I am not familiar with the specific box but I presume no additional switching is required to get into the DVB-T channels?

Is the coax cable for the aerial connected and all connections tight? Did the aerial get shifted or moved?

I don't have much experience with these type of boxes but it seems quite basic, just has a power out, HDMI out and two others that obviously connect to the aerial.

As far as the dish is concerned I don't think it has been moved. Its on top of the house at the base of the roof. I will get the ladder out in the morning and have a look.

    Thanks for the help anyway.

The dish wont have anything to do with the loss of your Irish Channels. Have a look for your aerial and see if anything has happened it or the cable / connections between it and your tv.

All of the Irish radio channels (across Saorview & satellite) would include the likes of RTE Gold, RTE Pulse, & RTE 2XM. I presume you only actually have those that are carried on satellite alone: RTE 1 & 2, RTE Lyric, RTE R na G, & Newstalk?

    Saorsat suggests otherwise.

    True, never thought of Saorsat.

The only one I don't have out of the stations mentioned is Newstalk. But I definitely have the rest of them along with English, Welsh Scottish and some from Europe.

Just had a fiddle with the aerial then re tuned the stations and it's working.
    Thanks for all your help.

If all along you were getting the first 3 radio services I listed, there was no need to 'fiddle with the aerial'. They are only carried on Saorview & Saorsat. I'm pretty sure you don't have Saorsat &, if you were getting a Saorview signal, it would include the TV services too, as mentioned already.

Also, to my list of Irish radio services carried on satellite at 28 degrees east, you can add RTE Radio 1 Extra.

I never added anything I pressed the button that has auto tuning on it and then it automatically tunes in the stations, like I said I dont know much about these boxes I just like the idea of NO MORE BILLS. but tell how come the channels would not come in before i fiddled with the aerial but did straight away after I fiddled with the aerial.

... tell how come the channels would not come in before i fiddled with the aerial but did straight away after I fiddled with the aerial.

If you were receiving RTE 2XM, RTE Gold, & RTE Pulse, before 'fiddling with the aerial', then you had a Saorview signal for at least the 1st multiplex (group of services) that also includes TV services RTE2, TV3, TG4, 3e, & RTE News Now. RTE1, RTE1 +1, & RTE jr. are on the 2nd multiplex.

What exactly did this 'fiddling' involve? Did you remake a bad connection?
