Calves reaction to injection

    Hi , I've noticed a few of my calves with lumps on necks , reaction to injection of convex in 8 I'm guessing,I mustn't have injected proper, is there anyway I can get rid of the lumps ?? Any help greatly received

    As far as I know that happens with some vaccines. Tribovax is one that can do it too. Read the back of box it might state that it may cause lumps.. usually go down itself

    It's most likely a normal response to the vaccine. The diseases it prevents are very nasty and so the response to vaccine is nasty too. Don't get scratched by a used needle or inject yourself!!
    The lumps will go down on their own. No need to do anything unless a dirty needle was involved, in which case they'll become abscesses.

    The datasheet says to inject in the side of the neck but I'd use the skin over the ribs myself or, at the very least, the opposite side to what they'll be TB tested on.

    I use covexin 10 and nearly all the calves get a golf ball sized lump. Pain in the hole when giving the booster. Goes after a few weeks.

    Usually giving the area of injection a rub of your hand afterwards sometimes helps the lump not to form
