Tube/Tyre Problem?

HI I was wondering if someone could give an opinion please. I had a puncture out cycling this morning, fixed it and got home with no issues. I inflated it properly when home with a track pump to 115 psi which is within the range on tyres but while i was pumping up other tyre there was a bang and the tyre i had changed blew and a large rip in the inner tube when i checked. Im not sure what i did wrong this time as ive changed plenty tyres and tubes myself before. Any opinions as i know im going to be slightly nervous tommorrow when i reinflate a new tube in case it blows while at speed.
    Thanks in advance

Sounds like a part of the beading on the tyre edge wasn't properly seated into the rim. Easy enough to do, and something I've done myself before in the past. The resultant bang does truly scare the crap out of you and make you check very thoroughly in future.

HI Smacl, Thanks for the quick response im just putting on a new tyre and tube on now as i had one to spare so hopefully il get it right again but yes the bang does make one check a little better. Il keep a close eye on the beading when putting this one on. And a lesson learned i think better at home than on the road! thanks again :)

did you partly inflate the inner tube before putting it in the tyre? this can help with preventing catching the inner tube between tyre and rim.

could be a bit of tube caught between tyre and rim. I've fixed loads of punctures at road side etc and then a while ago I'd one or two like you outlined. I found after pumping it up a bit I could feel in places that tube hadn't inflated fully to fill the tyre by pressing down on it. I then grabbed the tyre in those locations and pushed them forward and back and then I could feel that the tube had filled the tyre completely that it was relatively firm all the way around. just my two cents. I haven't had that problem since.

Never inflate the tube the full way without stopping a few times and inspecting the tyre to ensure its seated properly and evenly inflated.

Might sound obvious but have you checked the tyre itself for any possible debris from the original puncture still in the casing?

Thanks Autophile i had looked for debris alright as i had learned that the hard way before. I think it was as Smacl suggested and the beading wasnt in properly as ihavent had a problem since thankfully,
    Thanks for the tip

Tyre blew off the rim....happens if you dont eep an eye around the rim as you inflate
