construction and insulation

    Hi there building a new house with in the next few months

    Was looking to pump my cavity walls with 200mm insulation with no plaster board inside fit 90mm future proof windows with insulation in the frames etc has any body advise on this or any other ideas

    There's more to building an energy efficient house than insulation amount but you are correct to keep all your insulation in the one place. Ensure that thermal bridges are minimised / eliminated. Have you considered block on flat with external wall insulation (ewi)?

    If you are not aware of the effect that (lack of) airtightness has then research this as it is as important as insulation.
    Don't forget about appropriate ventilation either.
