I'm working for a Healthcare agency as a HCA. At the minute I'm getting loads of work and very happy working for the agency.

I've been told that the HSE are getting rid of agency staff completely and replacing them with interns. They have said this before and it never happened. So does anybody know how true it is??

    Interns? What kind of interns?

Locally haven't seen many agency HCAs in recent weeks, but at this time of year a lot of the newly qualified (though still awaiting registration) nurses work as HCAs until their paperwork comes through, will have a clearer idea after the next couple of weeks.
