I have one mick its an optimus sub zero type and its brilliant! I found using normal light you are dependent on eye shine too much unless you've lit up half the county with a huge beam, with the green beam you can watch mr. fox every move and wait for the right shot, they don't seem to mind the green as much either.

Mine came with a rechargeable battery and I wouldn't be an all nighter but I've done 3+hrs lamping and no bother, what we do is a quick scan with a White Cree type torch (€10 on eBay) and when foxy shows up after a few squeaks on the best caller get the green beam on him.

I bought one early this year,, Again its the optimus sub zero,, Seemingly the sub zero model is the one to have for temps below 5 degrees and i even notice mine isnt as good when its proper cold out,,

Its focusable to give you a wide spread of light or to just light up the full of your scope field of view at a greater distance,

Well capable of showing up a fox or rabbit at 300+ yards

Biggest advantage ive seen from it is that it only lights up what its pointed at unlike a long range lamp..
