How to set up Mail App on W8?

    Hey,

I used to have an iMac that let me access my eircom.net emails via a Mail app at the bottom of the screen which I found really handy.

I've just bought a W8 laptop and I can't seem to be able to do the same thing. The Mail app on the laptop only allows me to use a @live.com email which I don't have or want.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to have an app on the bottom of the screen like I had on the iMac and how do I go about setting it up? Thanks

Open the w 8 mail app, move the mouse to the bottom left corner of the screen-settings,you can add accounts to the app.

From the desktop hit the windows key, right click on the mail app select pin to taskbar.

    Bottom right, not bottom left

Thanks guys, but I can't seem to be able to do it! When I open the Mail app and scroll down to settings, there's nowhere that I can see where it says add an account! I've clicked into all the options available and nothing!!

I see now! I have to be signed in to @live.com email a/c for me to be able to then add another account! Bit stupid really, just their way to get people to open one of their email a/c's! Thanks guys.

Sorry guys, I'm back again!!! I've added the account but I can't seem to get the tile to appear on the taskbar of the desktop! I've right-clicked the tile but there's no option to pin to taskbar. Any ideas?

When you right click on the tile are there options appearing at the bottom of the screen?

Ya, but only 3. (i) Unpin from start (ii) make smaller (iii) all apps.

You don't. You just need to be signed in with a Microsoft Account. It doesn't need to be a live.com/hotmail.com/outlook.com address...

As has already been mentioned, it doesn't have to be an Outlook.com/Hotmail/Live account, just a Microsoft account paired to any e-mail address. Contrast that with Google, who require Android users to set up a Gmail account whether they want it or not.
