Was doing a quote today and put value of car at 1000 and it through me back a quote of 800+ , then put value to 5000 mark and it dropped to about 500 why is this ?

Also i get the odd part time work of painting and it dropped by another 100 or so instead of putting in unemployed , why is this ?

People with less valuable cars may be more likely to have accidents. People without jobs may make more dangerous journeys or have lifestyles that make them more of a risk who knows. Its all done on statistics.

Altering the facts on a quote isn't a great idea though.
