    So has anyone else noticed this? in the past 2 months( tbh i think its the past 3 weeks but was on vacation ), VF seem to have implemented intense traffic shaping/profiling.

    Previously when i was on 50mbit( before vectoring ), everything was constant, i.e got ~5megabyte per second across multiple protocols/classifications now:
    Torrents : Download any linux iso over torrents -> getting around 360k a second
    HTTP : The same, about 360k per second, even less most of the time.
    Steam -> looks ok, get 10Mbyte per second, guess they havnt copped that yet.
    Youtube -> ok
    FTP -> 1 megabyte/sec - Throttled.
    Most situations are run something like torrents, quit it and run speed test straight afterwards, 5 mins later speedtest is back to 80+mbit/sec

    Seriously my main uses are downloading Oculus stuff on http and Linux ISO's over ftp/sftp or http and this is bloody useless. Do Eircom have the same traffic shaping policies?

    Ignoring idiots who comment "far right" because they don't even know what it means

    Pull an ISO from HEANET mirrors and see what speeds you get. This could be further out than your ISP.

    An old thread... but noticed this tonight on vodafone fibre - anyone else getting throttled on torrents with them? Downloading an ISO from Heanet i'm still getting a good 4mb's a second but only about 250 kb/s combined on uTorrent

    Try downloading this free Linux torrent and see what speeds you get: http://linuxtracker.org/index.php?page=torrent-details&id=66fc47bf95d1aa5eca358f12c70af3ba5c7e8f9a

    It's maxing out my 45Mb (usually 50Mb) connection, so there' enough speeds.

    Scratch that, there was some issue with my torrent client. Reinstalled and working fine now
