Cherry eye

My chihuahua/JR x had cherry eye surgery a few months back and it recently popped back out again :( the poor bugger had a few complications after the surgery (his eye swelled out like a golf ball, took longer to heal than normal)

I got the dog from the pound with cherry eye so it was probably exposed for a long time before the surgery.

Its not causing him major issues, no pain or oozing. Would it be worth getting a second surgery and maybe removing the gland? Or should I just leave him? He went through such an ordeal last time that I'm wary about doing it again :(

Really think its a question for your vet as we are not qualified to say whether it should be done or not.

Maybe get a second opinion from a different vets?

Maybe ask your vet for a referral to an eye specialist OP?
