    Hi,

I registered for two poker games on a poker website. I got disconnected. I tried logging back in a few times. I kept getting error message as follows.

"Portal Error: 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable"

Was this a connection error on their side or my side? My internet was not down as I could access the internet when this was happening.

    Cheers!

Hi Degsie, Thanks for reply. However this doesnt resolve my problem as this happend to me hours ago and the site is now ok. I want to know who was in error (me or them) When this happend.

    Thanks

Who is your internet provider? Is it mobile broadband? (i.e: stick, dongle)

If you can see the 503 page, it's likely them that's down unless you access the internet through a proxy of some kind.

    Hi guys.

Thanks for replies. The site I was getting problems with was ladbrokes poker. I have it installed on my laptop for long time now and this has never occured before. Obviously have been disconnected before but when trying log back in I have never received this message before. I have done google search on this error message and most say its down to the server. I do know however that other players on the poker site didnt have this problem at this time. Thats whats confusing me. Why was I getting this error message.. As I said I could log straight into my hotmail at the same time with no problems..

There's a hundred reasons why you could have gotten that error. It's a very common issue, that happens on any website that has any level of decent traffic.

Some mobile internet providers may cache webpages which could cause the issue, who supplies your internet? It could be the websites problem but could also be your internet provider!

So is more likely its an error on their side? Sorry I know this is not poker forum :o But I had money registered in a tournament and I was disconnected with this error message. When access back in, the tournament had finished. Just seeing If I have a case to ask for my money back. Everytime i contact them They are still investigating the matter. The only concern I have is that it didnt happen to all customers, however I dont see why I could enter google, hotmail etc... and not the the poker

It could have been your laptop doing something strange, it could have been a transient network issue somewhere between your laptop and their servers, it could have been one of their servers falling over, it could have been a code deploy. That's the problem with the internet - it's complicated and things may not always get through first time.

How long were you disconnected for? Could you load a webpage?

    Hi

ye I could load a web page at this time. While my game was in play and was getting this message numerous times, I went to their web page to speak live chat to them and was getting error message "WE ARE CURRENTLY UPGRADING OUR SPORTSBOOK TO BRING SOME GREAT IMPROVEMENTS TO YOUR LABROKES EXPERIENCE...."... So their internet web page was down also. I then tried to log in to other websites and had no issues.

I am just after receiving a reply from them today saying:

"upon thoroughly checking, we can conclude that there were no network or Ladbrokes maintenance at the time you participated in the tournaments, therefore, we cannot provide a refund. You may contact you internet provider regarding this matter.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding".

I have been back on to them asking for further investigation. They said they will.. So will see what their reply is.
