Starting work now, will they project my earnings?

I'm only starting employment now and as such will have only earned 3 months wages at the end of this tax year, which I presume will be under the threshold.

Is this how it's calculated or have I got it wrong?

They do not project your earnings

You'll get paid weekly or monthly and any unused 2014 tax credits and bands from before you started work will be utilised in the calculations of your tax each week/month and carried forward till the end of the year -- assuming the employer gets an up-to-date statement of your credits and cutoff point from Revenue - I might be worth your while ringing revenue with your new employers reg no. if you feel that they might not be on the ball
