Hi folks, not sure if this is the right forum or not. Am hoping to go back to uni next year to do my primary PGCE. I will have to obtain a C grade in GCSE Biology before I can be accepted on the course. I want to book the test for a bit of extra motivation to study, how long do you reckon it would take to cover the syllabus adequately enough to sit the test? Can afford to study around 15-20 hours a week, I'm thinking before Christmas maybe? Thanks for any responses.

It depends what your background knowledge is in biology really. Did you do Leaving Cert biology?

GCSE would be somewhere in between Junior Cert Science and Leaving Cert Biology

Thanks for the reply rainbow, I didn't study biology for the leaving cert. I've been quite busy lately with work and applying for different jobs so I haven't had much time to study so far. Hence I'm trying to figure out a reasonable time to book the exam to give me a bit of extra motivation! It's looking more like after Christmas now I think.

I'd say book it for after christmas and give yourself time to do it properly. You can download past papers to practice on as well so you can see what you need to know
