Returns - how many is too many?

So I have a Mad Catz - Rat5 gaming mouse. I have returned it 3 times now for a new one due to the exact same fault. It seems to be a major problem with this mouse.
Now what is annoying me is they want me to pay for shipping which is €5 or more each time.

I feel like if the RAT5 is the issue should they not just send me another model like the RAT7?

Mad Catz is the manufacturer, I bought from a shop but that was over a year ago now.

How many is too many depends on you but I reckon most people would consider 3 returns within a year to be far too excessive. The seller (shop) might offer a higher spec model but they don't have to, they could offer another replacement (or one of equivalent spec/value) or they could simple refund you instead.

By the way, it's not clear who you were shipping to but there's a chance you should have been refunded for those the shipping costs.
