Nearly taken out on a roundabout

When are people going to learn how to use round abouts?!!! I was coming from the ballyogan road onto the carrickmines roundabout ( the one at the retail park) and was going all the way around the round about, which worked out at the 3rd exit, but was at the 2 o'clock position, with the entrance from the m50 north bound right beside it.

So there I am, approach the round about, in the right hand lane, with indicator on, car to my left who leaves at the round about to cross the m50 towards the Westwood gym roundabout, I continue in the right lane, switch indicator to left after that exit, as I was taking the next exit, now the road that leads from the roundabout to the retail park has 2 lanes, left is used by people coming from the m50 north entrance to the roundabout to go to the retail park, right lane is generally used by people coming off the roundabout, so I begin to move across the left lane to go exit into the right lane of the road when I catch sight of a silver golf that has just come onto the roundabout in the left lane to go straight, a bit of hard breaking and quick reaction to the right for me stopped the side of my car becoming intimately involved with her front wing.

Now here's where I got really annoyed, she has the cheek to say I tried to cut across her with no warning, and that she had right of way. I actually laughed, then got angry when it became apparent she was serious,I asked her did she know what yield to the right meant? And suggested she read the rules of the road, there may have been a few choice words in there too, but i got so annoyed with the complete ignorance!

    Tl;Dr
People can't use roundabouts and have no concept of yield to the right when there's more than one lane.

Im sure there'll be some here that will say it was my fault, but I've read over correct roundabout procedure as soon as I came home afterwards, just because I wanted to make sure I wasn't wrong, and I'm following the correct procedure for multi lane roundabouts.

You're right about one thing, there will be people on to say it was your fault. :)

Yep I imagine so! Well I'm happy enough that according to the vague rsa guidelines on roundabout use I was in the right!
