Been thinking forva while now of putting a high ebi fr into thr jerseys here.
16 here atm and only got 5 heifers ftom them over last two yrs.
Have 3 very good ones gave no less tgan 550kgs last yr.
Noe im thinking of using sexed fr on them.
Am I trying ti do too much with tightening up both calving seasons?
3 of my 7 empties are jerseys

No harm to try crossing with a high ebi b & w bull gg, obviously pick one with high fert and solids and If u need it there are a few with good kgs of milk as well as the above. Unfortunately a lot are still based on genomic only so if that is less suitable for crossing I wouldn't be sure. On the sexed I'd only go on heifers and at the very start of the season in case they don't hold. U have crossbreed cows already do u?

Ye about half the herd crossbred rest is split between the jerseys and fr/ho.
Ye jeresys are not the best for fertility so I dunno if using sexed us wise. I have 9 heifers to serve aswell.
Father likes the jerseys so he's not to keen on breeding them to BW

Use a charolais on them for a bit of size and power:pac::pac:

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

With that mix in the herd you could compare away well enough using the milk recording/ scanning results the girls that work well for you on your farm be they crosses or purebreds. yeah you could meet halfway with the father maybe go half and half, important to have him on board in decisions when hes still involved and you can show him the merit of it with the crossbreds currently there. LWR's maternal side is pretty good anyways:)

PCZ is an other good option for increasing production.
