    Hi Guys,
I bought a savage axis .223 back in Feb/March and I'm delighted with it for foxes and long range rabbits but the area I live in is over populated with rabbits now and once I shoot the .223 once everything else scatters with the noise even with the supresser its a pain in the hol*.I'm looking for a very quite and very light rifle for bunny stalking so as I can knock 2 or 3 in the one field basically cheap and fun to run .I was thinking a cz452 suppressed would this do the trick ?or any other opionions .Also would I have trouble getting licenced for a second rifle ?I got licenced for a suppressed .223 with no hassle at all only waiting 3/4 weeks

    Question 1 : Yes, perfect
Question 2 : No, shouldn't be a problem, make sure you apply for moderator on the form.

Try a 10/22, very light and very quiet. A bolt action may be a bit quieter but not much. Also they can be easily upgraded if you ever decide to go that way and spare parts are plentiful

Moderated Anschutz 1417 for my money.

~5lbs before the scope, factory 16" match barrel (so it's shorter with a moderator fitted than most other rifles without one at all!), two stage adjustable match grade trigger as standard, and moderated it's as quiet as you'll get without going to air.

They ain't cheap but they're the best bunny rifle out there bar none.

Alternatively, if you don't mind stalking a few yards closer, or you're in a space with good cover, then there's a Weihrauch .22 FAC in the for sale section at the moment. I use the .177 version of that same rifle for bunnies and whilst you need to know your drop chart inside out, it is the very definition of whisper quiet. I've dropped as many as 5 in succession without moving and that count is only limited by the range - they don't hear a thing!

The Brno model 2 / cz 452 series of rifles are a great choice for bunny hunting. Light weight, accurate and well priced for a quality rifle. It is no surprise that they have been one of the biggest sellers in Ireland and the uk for the last 40 years. As regards getting licensed for a second rifle put down on FCA1 form that you require the .22 for rabbit shooting and if asked about your .223 say it is too powerful and noisy for rabbits and you use it for foxes only. Once you have shown good reason for a second rifle I don't see you having any problems. Best of luck.
