Hey I just applied in Dunnes today for an xmas temp position.

Does anyone know how long I'd have to wait for a reply if my CV was accepted of course?

I handed in a CV. To the one in Stephen's Green.

Not to hijack your thread, I handed in a CV two weeks ago to the ILAC Centre Dunnes - the woman at the Customer Service desk gladly took it, then said they'd start be recruiting the week after but as of yet, haven't heard back either.

Yeah I was gonna hand one in there but supposedly they're all connected anyway. The CV's in dub get sent to HR and everything takes place around the same time. Like I also handed one into TK Maxx but i'd much prefer to work in Dunnes.

Over the past two weeks I've heard nothing for the several CV's I handed out in the city centre [Dunnes / Pennys / Eason's / Aldi / Tesco's / Smyths / Argos / HMV / Toymaster]. Frustrating to say the least.

I'd say over the next month they might start getting in touch. Most places I applied to wanted somebody with previous retail experience. Did you have any or did the positions say that they would train you?

Most of my work experience would be in construction / manual labour aside from a bit of volunteering in a charity shop. Nowhere mentioned training, only asked whether I was looking for something part or full time. I'll enquire about training should I get a response from any of them.

I know my local Dunnes has collected masses of cv's over the past year and they're working through them first. It's probably the same with other stores.

Sorry to hijack thread, but do Dunnes only accept applications for cashiers by applying in store? Coz I see no cashier jobs on their website

My two friends were Christmas temps this year. They just handed in CV's in at end of September, both got called for interviews, both got offered jobs (Temp cashier Xmas contract working till Xmas Eve). They are students in Galway.

Yes, apply in store. Just fill out an application. Positions on line are management/ head office.

Thanks, I'm going to do that tomorrow, but do I hand apply at customer service or do I look for a manager? It's just every job I've had I always take the online route.
