"Farming books" anybody know of good ones?

    My father is looking for me to get him a book "the farming ladder" by George Henderson.

    I'm just wondering is there any more interesting Farming related books you would recommend?.thanks

    Early to Rise , a Suffolk Morning by Hugh Barrett
    Yesterday's Farm by Valerie Porter

    They are both about farming years ago but are nice to read . I dont know where I got them but im sure they can be found on the interweb

    Teagasc beef manual is an interesting read through and you can skip chapters without missing the plot.
    Nuts is another great read, just dont follow all the advice.

    Not in the conventional sense I suppose.
    I was using a very loose definition.
    Still worth a read though. :-)

    Was reading this last night, woke the house up laughing...

    then spent the early hours hunting back calves and wondering whether I had subconsciously written this book in an earlier life.
