Groupon have a very good deal today for refurbished iPad Air at €349.99 versus €489 new. Comes with 2-pin rather than 3-pin plug. They offer black or white rather than space grey and silver but its the A7 chip so looks like the genuine article. Sorry, can't post link cos I'm not a big boy yet!

Be very careful, wouldn't touch it with a barge pole with reviews like that.

    Apparently the same crowd as:

Who I have researched before and found nothing but bad reviews from. Also the ad doesn't say Apple refurbished....another massive red flag. Always be wary of electronics from Groupon.

Be wary of any groupon goods. They sell the lowest grade of everything.
Friend of mine got bluetooth headphones. Fair enough they were cheap but they were unbranded and came in a padded bag with no box or instructions. And they are utter shít.
I got towels before from them. Supposed to be egyptian cotton, but they were actually branded 'egyptian' and were normal threadbare cotton

Anything sold on groupon is trash. Wouldn't buy a thing on it. Including things like car services etc. all a scam to get you in the door and tell you a long list of things wrong with your car.

I'd rather take a chance on Crap in a Box than Groupon

They offer black or white rather than space grey and silver

That's very suspicious because there's never been a black-backed iPad Air!

The iPad mini was silver back/white front, black back/black front in 2012 and switched to silver back/white front, space grey back/black front in 2013.

The iPad Air has always been silver back/white front and space grey back/black front (it only came out in 2013). So, did they put on some aftermarket enclosures or something? Or perhaps they are simply referring to the colour by the front panel only which is and has always been black or white.

I don't have the original ad as I'm not signed up with groupon so I can't check.

Edit: I've checked their website and they do mention space grey so it seems ok. However the price is 399, not 349 so perhaps this is not the same ad? http://www.groupon.ie/deals/special/gg-photo-direct-18-92/44919912

In any case I won't go for it with those bad reviews of the shop, thanks Alanstrainor

Edit2: Oh now I've found the 349 ad, unlike the previous one I linked this one does not mention space grey, very strange: http://www.groupon.ie/deals/national-deals/gg-photo-direct-28/46056386. Could be just a mistake though. If it is a real iPad Air it simply cannot have a black back.

Surely the "black" refers to the front bezel.

Anybody know if this is legit http://www.soxaelectronics.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=100&search=ipad+air
Reading reviews about the website apparently it's legit they have a shop in London?

For sure, I remember buying an Advance Pitstop voucher for a car service a few years back from Groupon. Advance ring me up that afternoon and tell me that my orange indicator bulbs "aren't flashing orange enough and will fail the NCT" but that they'd happily replace both the rear ones for €38. I told the mechanic to either get out a can of orange spray paint and paint them or else don't go near them. Pure scam artists, worst thing for Advance is I've told everyone I know to avoid them and this is probably the 3rd time I've said it here on Boards so their little scam of trying to get you in the door to fleece you may have worked on some people but has likely ended up alienating many more. Gobsh1tes, pure and utter gobsh1tes.

I've never bought a refurbished item but I bought my iPad air brand new through groupon earlier in the year without issues. Arrived within the week. In fact there's a thread somewhere on here about that offer.

The GF bought one also without issue.
