Dodgy Boiler ?

    Hi,

Not for the first time since moving into new house I ended up having a cold shower this morning, after the boiler required yet another reset. By reset I mean the small plastic button on the side of the internal casing.

One other thing. Even if I have the red lever set to both rads + hot water, the rads will not boost on their own (via heating boost button on boiler panel), but it seem that the hot water boost button has to be set too. In fact I think the hot water boost button does the lot. What is the point of having a seperate heating boost button..

    Any suggestions/comments appreciated..
    Thanks,
    R

Have you had the boiler serviced recently? It may need cleaning, hence the constant need to reset.

    Hi Egass13,

The boiler is an Ideal Classic LXFF. The red lever I was talking about is the one near the cylinder upstairs in the hotpress.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Can anyone shed any light on the issue I'm having ? Im reluctant to have to call out a plumber yet again (and paying for it) after it was only serviced recently.

    Thanks in adavance

Sorry I thought I replied to this !
That reset your pressing is an overheat stat , chances are your the stat is faulty or the pump is goosed , if it's the ideal pump , I've come across quite a few of them that will run fine for a while and then stop when hot . But your going to need a plumber to confirm the problem anyway .
