Given the poor grain prices this year and the dairy expansion is there much tillage land going into grass in the more dairy areas? Not happening in my area but its nearly all tillage anyway (8 mile road and only cattle are mine). In a conacre sanario no way could a tillage farmer compete with his dairy neighbour

Tillage lads hungry for land here but dairy lads are blowing them out of the water financially.plots making up to 350 an acre, crazy money even for a dairy man to pay.tillage man better off staying away at that money, and so is the dairy man.40 cen per litre seriously clouding his judgement!!!

Paying 200 fir next 5 yrs. Wouldn't go too far past that here tbh

Lots of tillage around me op and I see none yet going into grass. One local tillage man has put in a robot but he has a girl managing it for him

Tillage farmer I know said he just missed out on a decent plot of land for rent for 150quid this year. He said on hindsight it was a blessing in disguise as he would of lost money at 150quid rent with the poor grain price!
