This week I began giving out CVs for primary subbing. I've spoken to people in Dublin who are finding cover work plentiful. Are others outside of Dublin finding things ok or not much work going?

I'm just wondering how long before I start working.

Did u put your name down for textasub? Or is that still in use? We used to get subs from that . Generally get them from cvs that have been left in or recommendations

Yeah I've signed up for that and INTO have a similar thing too. I guess it's just a waiting game now. Is it better to call in with a hardcopy or is emailing CVs fine too? It's very time consuming driving all over the county.

I'm not sure if many of you have heard about subteacher.ie for second level schools. I'm not connected to it in any way, my attention was drawn to it yesterday, it might be worth a look. I have registered the school on it and I think its free for teachers for a month or so. It definitely would be a handy resource if it took off maybe 9.99 a month or 69.99 for the year is a bit steep when you're not working at all.

Anyway, it might be handy for people looking to get a start. ~I'm not recommending it or anything like that I know very little about it. Just drawing your attention to it!

subteacher.ie looks fantastic pity it's only for secondary schools. I don't understand how there aren't supply agencies here in Ireland.
