    Anyone doing this?
I'm thinking of doing it. Is there much of a turn out at it?
I'm a beginner, this will be my second 5k, the first was a flat fun run a few weeks back.

I entered it last night. It's my 2nd 5k as well. My 1st was on Sunday in Rathfarnham. The website said that it is limited to 1000 competitors. Im not sure how many have already signed up though.

Cool. Yes, I'm going to sign up tomorrow hopefully. Are you running long?

No, Sunday was my first ever road race. I haven't ran since I was in school so over 10 years ago. I've been running 5k in the gym on the treadmill a lot so I wanted to see if I could do it in a road race. Managed it in 22.01 as well.

I did 23.09, few months off the cigs and havn't done any sport in years. Training only about a month so was quite happy. Just looking forward to getting the time down. Addictive craic:)
Best of luck with it KJ

Came in 9th in the 5km, messed up I started a little off front and found a group but after 2km they were slower than I hoped so went in search of next group and finally caught them but the time in between by myself a little I found very hard. Finished strong but overall second race so can't be two upset with result.

Was good fun deco have a buzz now

I came 19th in the 5k. Only my second race and my time on this one was about 1.30 faster than the first race so I'm pleased with that. I think the main reason for that was because I used two people to run behind but I think they were going faster than I had hoped but I kept up anyway.

Yeah my second 5km as well. Was very frustrated to be slightly slower just got it all wrong o think I should have followed the few leaders and just held on until I could.

Ah well I will only improve. Well done improving your time must feel great.

It feels great now. It didn't feel great at the finish line. A banana and a sit down on the grass helped. I found the Grand Canal stretch from 2k to 3k to be quite tough. After that it seemed to get a bit easier.
