Small lambs

    Few small lambs here around 30 kg but small frames.. Whats best to do with them? Feed them up until they are 42/44 kg ( dont think you can push them any higher weights) or sell them as stores straight away..

    Are they the only lambs you have? If so I'd sell, if your feeding up others I'd keep and feed them along. Two reasons, saves you a day at the mart if factory them and no more hassle in keeping them if part of a larger bunch.

    we've the same issue here. pulled them about 3 weeks ago and are feeding them on a bit.... generally hoggets lambs with us.
    weighed them last evening and they are doing nicely. another 4-5 weeks and they'll make nice freezer lambs...

    weighed them today and they are around 35kg..did very well last 3-4 weeks on grass..will feed them with the rest see how they get on..thanks
