SEAT Ibiza Car Radio

well lads, hoping one of you have experienced a similar problem to me as this.
a couple of weeks ago, my cars battery went and the car completely died on me. The radio had a habit of turning on and off by itself while I was out of the car.

Anyway, the battery was fixed and I've had no problems until last Friday when the radio would not turn on. Anyone with a 01 Seat Ibiza would know that the radio control panel is used for A/C. I had it up at the mechanics during the weekend, and he said he doesn't know what's wrong with it. He said the power is going into it but it won't turn on. Anyway, with the control panel I have constant hot air flowing into the car. It's rather unbearable driving.

Is there any fix to this problem that I or my mechanic don't know of. I have googled it and to be honest, i don't think the radio is in safe mode as there is nothing appearing on the panel screen.

Thanks for any help in advance.

The fault you describe is very common and is not very costly to repair. Ask at your local garage as to where they get their radios repaired.

My mam has the same car. There was a recall for this issue. From chatting to her the limit expired before she got it sorted too. Every so often the radio comes on and flattens the battery. There may be updated replacement parts available or a breakers might be good.

    Good luck
