Can anyone recommend a good vw indy in West dublin please.I am having issues with my 07 passat,I intermittently won't start.

Put in key can hear clicking in steering wheel then after a few goes it will start.other times it will start straight away, problem only started on sat.probably steering relay,(but hey could be anything, lady driver here)
Would I be better bringing it to vw to get diagnostics done first.

I know lots of people have recommended George but I have to drop and collect kids at school so don't think I would make it down to him and back in time.
    Thanks

Sounds like the usual steering column fault. There are very very few independent garages around who can code the replacement part so you will probably have to go to a dealer.

As far as I know all of the Dublin based dealers want €350-400 for the job but if you travel outside the pale you will get it done cheaper. Cumiskeys in Dundalk are the cheapest I am aware of @ €250.

They will charge you €70 for diagnostics, waste of money IMO.

€85 for the first hour, :-( , he did say it could simply be a software issue but I'm not being too optimistic. will see what they say then decide what to do,
I called vw garage up north where I bought it at 9 months old, they said they would also have to do diagnostics first...

George what do you suggest I do?Thanks again
