Hotel wants my photo files to print pics for rooms

Hi all, a hotel asked me if they can have my digital photo files (landscapes) to use for their hotel rooms next year. The idea is they will print them and frame them themselves. There is 25 digital photo files and the hotel has 120 rooms. I cannot do the printing and framing myself as I am currently moving abroad.

I am thinking of writing some sort of a contract with them to make sure they limit the use of the photos only to the hotel rooms. BUT, I have no idea for how much I can ask as I haven't done this before. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Neither do I (know what I'm talking about) but I'm going to guess before the experts reply, just for the craic...

    80 euro each? = 2,000?

id definitely write up some sort of agreement, including costing for use on their website and have that separately just so they know that if you do see them online you will be sending them an invoice. Sorry ive no experience to share with pricing up the job but am interested in what others have to say.

    Firstly- wow and congrats!
Someone from here (I think)has giant prints of his photos in a hotel near the Grand Canal Dock/Square in Dublin. Big prints of woods in business rooms if I remember correctly.
Dig a bit and you should be able to find him.
I'd say don't sell too cheapily. Research as much as you can, try to consult with people who have photos in hotels/similar places.

    Found him- Enda Cavanagh.

I'd reach out to him and ask for advice.

In general people charge 1 price for personal prints and a different rate altogether for commercial, business use.

Here's a good story worth looking at.
It includes things to consider- the size of the reproduction, the nature of the publication, the geographical area, the duration of use, and the exclusivity of the use

This is a video of him in the printing process.

I wouldn't even consider giving away my Digital Negatives. Ever. And giving away is what you would be doing.

You can get your pics printed, even if you're not in the country. Send the files to a good printer and ask them to deliver too.

    Congratulations!

I'd suggect you contact Steve in 360-dpi, I'd be fairly sure he could print, frame and deliver the prints for you. I'd agree with Eyeblinks about not handing over the digital negatives. If the hotel want's prints, then give them prints, found out how many of each image, what size they want, then talk to Steve to check out the costs involved, then you can decide how much of a markup to charge.

They do not get the files.

It should be they say we want these 80s pictures. ( already picked out)

You then shop around for printing cost and framing.

Hand them the best quotes and then you apply your charge and time Ie.

if you think your pictures are worth a €100.00 per print taking into account time cost equipment. The printing it self costs €35 add framing €60.

Now take in multiple printing, your going to get a reduction in over all price then go from there obviously there can be negotiations on all sides. But generally if they like your work they will do there best to meet the price.

also telling them that they could probably find a framer to do it cheeper then you could. is always helpfull but dont buckle on ****ty prining it will mean and unhappy client...

i would suggest if you havent done this before get someone involved who has

there are 2 main types of hotels wanting stuff like this

    1. wanting proper art type visuals for their hotel, this type are prepared to pay good money for good quality product

    2. need cheap anything to put on the wall. this type wont pay the 100 per image + framing etc some of them dont even pay 100 total!!!!

if you need some help, give me a shout

have done a few of these jobs
