Well, wondering if anyone on here with good knowledge of sheepdog breeding lines.
I need a new dog as my guy is getting slower and with numbers need 2 anyway. Decided this time to go down the train myself after last two being bought trained. Doing it more out of interest than any financial reason and used to train dogs on holidays when younger. I've also decided to go down the registered route this time as well, even though dont think I've ever had one before....

Just wondering what price would you pay for a pup from proven lines and if any lines or breeders people would recommend,
PM if more comfortable or appropriate.... ;)

You would be looking at €2-300 as a starting point I would think and even that doesn't guarantee that the pup will be any good or even look at a sheep.
I would advise trying to get something maybe 3-4 months old showing an interest in sheep and you'll get an indication of whether they'll be any good.
I don't know if you would be maybe thinking of breeding the dog in the longer term with the registered route but if you are try to get a pup who's both parents have been blood tested clear for CEA. I think that will save you blood testing I think but more importantly it will guarantee that the pup will be clear and can be bred with any other dog.
