T.v licence back dated

    Say the licence went out of date in march and the licence is paid in full after buying all the stamps needed well they back date if from march or well it expire 12 months from the 1st of the month it was paid in full

    Like the car tax I think dated from last day it expired.

    It's like motor tax,it expires at the end of the same month each year.

    Tell them your TV was out of the country for the months inbetween so no license was needed.

    I have had this situation and what you do is you go into the post office and tell them how you just moved into the house and its a new licence. Do not take any licence reminder letter with you as the just continue on from it.

    They issue you one from todays date. I do recall once I got a letter to say they made a match and have backdated it to the expiry of the last one but I ignored it as it was the first time I had bought one as I had not lived in that property.

    I didn't have one for a year and a half. Inspector comes around and left the note to say he called.

    I then went on line and bought one. Haven't heard any more since. Licence came in the post and nothing else about backdating it.
