Had the heating on earlier and switched it off. Just discovered it hasn't switched off! Timer seems to be broken.

After much messing around i just switched off trip for heating at mains box in the hope it'll kill all power to burner.
Is it okay to do that?

I know it's late but I'm panicking as it's just me and my small toddler in the house and don't want to blow anything up!

    Thanks!

That should be fine. There should be an isolating spur for the boiler, but the fuse board trip will do the job fine. If you have a stove that heats the rads, let it go out in case that it has it's pump wired through the same trip.

Thanks so much for your reply Wearb. I'll rest a little easier now.

It's an apartment I've just moved into and only has oil no stove. Thankfully the fuse box was labelled!

Thanks again. Much appreciated so late.
