How to get videos off a laptop & onto a memory stick

I have some home movies and photos on my lap top. (A five year old Toshiba.) I initially uploaded them from my digital camera & some of them are 4 years old. I want to get them off the laptop and onto an external storage device. I bought a 16GB Toshiba memory stick. I plugged it into the laptop today. The drivers were installed in about a minute. Then nothing. So now what? How do I get the videos from my laptop onto the actual memory stick? How does the import of the videos actually take place? What am I supposed to do? The memory stick did not come with any instructions.

When I plug the stick in to the laptop that the videos are on, the 2 options I have are:
1 Open folder to view files (when I open that up, naturally it is empty as it is brand new memory stick with nothing on it)
    2 Speed up my System.

Out of curiosity I plugged the stick into a new laptop and got 2 more options:
Use this drive for backup (using Windows backup)
    Import photos and videos(using Dropbox)

I didn't get those options on the lap top that has the videos on them.

The videos are all in Quicktime format, which I believe is a very old method of viewing videos on a laptop. (It was installed for me by someone else as they never played using the media player that came with the lap top.) Could that be a problem as the USB stick can't see/read them.

Any help would be appreciated, as I am a total newbie to all of this.

Btw, the sum total of all of the videos is only about 60 minutes long. Each one is about about 2-4 minutes long. Will a 16GB stick have enough storage space on it?

Where is the folder where the video files reside? Can you not copy / paste the whole folder(s)?

16GB may not be enough, but if you find the files you can select them all right click and select properties. This will give you the total file size of all.

How do I copy and paste them?

To access the videos, I click on the Window start icon, then Documents, then Pictures and the videos are all there in 40 separate folders.

In the folder library, I have the option to Organize, View, Open, Slideshow, Email, Share & Burn

When I open up each individual folder, the options are File Edit View Tools Help. There are Copy & Paste options under Edit, but they are greyed out, you can't click on them.

Just right click on one of the folders and select Copy. Open the USB stick and right clikc in the blank area and select past. Of course you could also open the Videos folder, Hold CTRL and A this selects all folders. Right click and select Copy. Then as above open the USB stick and paste. Of course as someone pointed out you may not have enough room for all the vidoes on the stick but you will be informed of that
