    Hi
I am working in a school and teaching third years for the first time as I only finished the dip last May. Can someone please tell me how long should the sceal and litir be as regards an a4 page say.. I'm covering a leave of absence so I want to try and gear the students as best for exam in case the teacher doesn't come back on time. They only have one pros and dan done as well, so I'd imagine I will need to work on this area too.

Any advice would be appreciated , I've looked at the curriculum for the Jc.

    Hi there,

Although I'm not a teacher, I really enjoyed Irish and I managed to get an A in my junior cert which although isn't a major for a lot of people, but for me it was considering that I came from a class full of D grades.

This is always an interesting topic. For leaving cert they recommend 2-3 pages and give you about 2 hours to do it. For junior cert, I would imagine that 2 pages would be the norm which seems a little unfair considering the students have 50 mins - 1 hour 10 mins. I wrote 3 1/2 pages for my essay however I had prepared it before the exam.

For the letter, I would imagine that around one page would be fine. Remember that with a letter there has to be the correct format and students would have to cover the points specified.

Best of look and hope all goes well!!
