Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Advice for Moving to Ireland to Volunteer

    Hello,

I am looking for any tips and advice for a U.S. Citizen to be able to move to Ireland and work as a volunteer.

I have read the INIS pages on Lay Volunteers, but I was looking for detailed experiences on the process, how long it takes, what paperwork is needed, what delays people have run in to etc.

My wife is already in Ireland as a PhD student and I would like to join her. I know I am eligible to enter under a Family Re-Unification application, but it does not allow me to work. If I can't work, I would like to volunteer my time and services to the community we will be living in.

Should I first reach out to organizations and work with them on the application process?

Do I need to be living in Ireland first? I prefer not to quit my job here until I have a visa in hand.

    Thanks for the help!

    -CJH
