Antique Dining table advice

Hi there. I have a mahogany american 8 legged extending dining table that needs some minor refurb. The middle leaf is gone. I think its about 150/160 years old. Beautiful piece but we have no room for it and I am unsure how to go about selling it - do antique shops take these things? Where would I advertise it? Done deal? Do I get it valued? By whom?
    Any advice much appreciated. :)
